Praise for Pakistan costs Meerut varsity students dear, booked for sedition

The students of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU), who were suspended following their alleged anti-national act while celebrating Pakistan`s win over India in a Asia Cup cricket match, now face arrest.

Meerut: The students of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU), who were suspended following their alleged anti-national act while celebrating Pakistan`s win over India in a Asia Cup cricket match, now face arrest. A group of Kashmiri students of SVSU have been booked for sedition following a police complaint, filed on the university`s request. On Tuesday, the university suspended 67 of its students from Kashmir and sent them back home for celebrating Pakistan`s victory over India in a Asia Cup match on Sunday. It is learnt that more than 200 girls and boys from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir are pursuing various courses in the university.
