Mumbai, July 03: Amrita Rao seems to be going all out to become a member of the ‘It’ Bollywood crowd. After a hip makeover, the sassy beauty has now joined a social network to keep abreast with the hip and happening stars of filmdom. Following the league of stars like Bipasha, Shahid and several leading filmmakers, who are hugely active and popular on social networks, the actress has now opened an account on Facebook.Confirming the news, the actress told Spicezee, “I have joined Facebook as I understand it’s important to stay connected in a tech savvy world. I have ensured that I accepted friend requests of people I know only and no fakesters”.
Amrita, who is s self-confessed gadget freak, states that she never really felt the need to be present on social networking site. So what got Amrita hooked to Facebook?
Well it’s all owing to a mischievous individual who had been operating an account under her name. Appalled and shocked on discovering her own fake account, the actress decided to take matters in hr own hands and open her own account.
Talking about the incident, Amrita said, “A close friend of mine told me that there was a notorious Amrita D Rao on Facebook was playing cheap pranks on the site and appeared to be original in nature. She had apparently added my close media friends as well as fans."
And if that wasn’t all for the lady to go red with anger, the anonymous individual was fueling all kinds of rumours about the actress. "There was a nasty rumour late last year when all my fans and family thought I was to marry a prince who was somehow related to Dr Vijay Mallya. Strange how the fake Amrita got the entire world to believe this utter piece of rubbish through Facebook. Apparently there was exchange of wall post messages between fake Amrita and the so-called prince", added Rao.
Looking to put all rumours to rest the actress joined the social network and warned the individual to close the fake account.
Well, looks like Amrita has learned the importance of staying in touch.
