====================================================================================

Skipper Michael Clarke and Adam Voges took Australia close to victory as they were 196/3. They needed 25 runs with 7 wickets and 59 balls remaining.

====================================================================================

Shane Watson played another good innings of 76 to take Australia to a comfortable position. Tino Best took his wicket. Australia were 150/3 after 31 overs and needed 71 runs off 19 overs with 7 wickets remaining.

====================================================================================

Centurion of the last match, Shane Watson (52*) was leading the Australian run-chase with a perfect unbeaten fifty. Phillip Hughes (20*) was giving him good company. Australia were 108/1 after 21 overs. They needed 113 runs off 29 overs with 9 wickets remaining.

====================================================================================

West Indies Overs: 10 II Score: 53/1

Australia got off to a good solid start. West Indies have got the breakthrough though. Narine will be West Indies’ trump card.

AJ Finch lbw b Narine 25 (45m 30b 5x4 0x6)

====================================================================================

Chasing a moderate 221 to win, Australian openers started cautiously as they made 26 runs without any loss. Shane Watson was batting on 9 and Aron Finch was unbeaten on 7. Australia needed 195 runs in 45 overs with all 10 wickets remaining.

====================================================================================

West Indies have been bowled out for 220 runs in 49.4 overs. Kieron Pollard (109*) played the innings of his life. Although wickets were falling around him he kept his cool and played with a wise head to lead West Indies to a respectable total.

====================================================================================

West Indies Overs: 45 II Score: 181/8

Pollard (76*) has put his foot on the accelerator now. Boundaries are flowing for the Windies here and Narine has batted intelligently to give Pollard the majority of the strike. We are in for some big hitting if Pollard has his way here.

====================================================================================

West Indies Overs: 40 II Score: 146/8

Pollard has played a very uncharacteristic innings here and has got to his half century. He has been the only player who has shown the resolve to hang in and not poke at deliveries outside off stump. Although wickets have been falling around him he has been patient enough to not throw his wicket away.

AD Russell c Maxwell b Faulkner 18 (28m 17b 1x4 1x6)

====================================================================================

West Indies Overs: 32 II Score: 98/7

West Indies have lost another important wicket. This time its Sammy who perishes caught at slip again. Pollard is batting on 32*.

DJG Sammy c Clarke b Cutting 25 (42b 3x4 0x6)

====================================================================================

West Indies Overs: 26 II Score: 74/6

Sammy and Pollard are playing intelligently. They have not taken any undue risks and have played the ball on its merit. They should only look to consolidate for the moment as Pollard is capable of increasing the run rate as and when he wishes. For now they need to carry on playing with caution.

====================================================================================

West Indies Overs: 20 II Score: 55/6

West Indies have lost another wicket and their innings is in tatters. The tendency of the West Indian batsmen to poke at deliveries outside off stump has caused them dearly in this match. Aussies are going for the kill. Darren Sammy comes out to the middle and he along with Pollard will be lookling to provide some stability to the West Indian innings and lead them to a respectable total.

DC Thomas c Finch b Cutting 7 (8m 6b 1x4 0x6)

====================================================================================

West Indies Overs: 18 II Score: 46/5

West Indies are falling apart here. Deonarine is dismissed this time. His habit of poking at balls outside off stump has cost him his wicket this time. Safely caught at second slip by Finch. A lot of responsibility now on Pollard batting on 14*.

N Deonarine c Finch b Cutting 10 (27m 16b 1x4 0x6

====================================================================================

West Indies Overs: 13 II Score: 29/4

West Indies have lost another wicket and this time its Maxwell who picks up Bravo. Aussies are looking to wrap up the Windies for as little as possible. Their bowlers have been very precise with their line and length and the Windies batsmen have struggled to cope with it. Pollard is batting on 1* and Deonarine on 7*.

DJ Bravo lbw b Maxwell 3 (8b 0x4 0x6)

====================================================================================

West Indies Overs: 8 II Score: 17/3

West Indies have lost three very early wickets and are on the back foot now. The Aussies have been on fire and are blowing away this Windies batting attack.

DM Bravo c Finch b Johnson 4 (16b 1x4 0x6)

KOA Powell c Maxwell b Johnson 9 (33m 29b 0x4 0x6)

J Charles b Johnson 0 (15m 3b 0x4 0x6)

====================================================================================

TOSS: West Indies have won the toss and have elected to bat first.
