Perth: Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting upped the ante ahead of the third Test at Perth by saying the Aussies will look for a 3-0 lead against the struggling India.
Ponting, who was under-fire for his batting going into the series against India, has hit form after first two matches, which included two half-centuries and a century. Speaking to reporters ahead of the third Test, an upbeat Ponting said the Aussies will adapt better to the bouncy conditions at Perth better than India. “The Perth green is best suited to the Australian team than the India team,” he said.
On Sachin Tendulkar’s quest for 100th century, Ponting said the Aussies hope to stop Sachin Tendulkar from scoring a hundred.
