New Delhi: India's star batsman Virat Kohli slammed a brilliant unbeaten 90 runs against Australia in the first Twenty20 match at the Oval in Adelaide on Tuesday.

The in-form player continued his brilliant batting form from the ODIs and helped India take the onus in the 3-match T20 series. Kohli's unbeaten knock saw him master the art of batting as he dictated the proceedings against the Aussie bowlers.

With Suresh Raina, he added 135-run-partnership that helped India score a mammoth 188 runs in 20 overs.

The Test skipper was adjudged man-of-the-match award.

Adelaide has been a happy hunting ground for Kohli in Tests and ODIs. On Tuesday he ensured his T20 form here stays intact too.

After the game Kohli stated that he really likes playing at the Adelaide Oval and he would like to take the pitch everywhere he goes.

“I really like playing here, would like to take the pitch to everywhere I go,” said the master batsman.

Kohli added that Adelaide is right up there in the world and thanked the fans for supporting the side.

"This stadium is right up there with anywhere in the world. I would love to thank the fans for coming out and supporting us."

India skipper MS Dhoni shared his views on Kohli mastering the art in Adelaide by stating that the ground will have a statue made of the latter given his run-scoring prowess.

Kohli has three Test centuries and an ODI ton at Adelaide Oval.
