Delhi: Indian skipper MS Dhoni on Sunday reached another career milestone in the 3rd ODI against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

The wicketkeeper-batsman became only the third player to captain his side in 300 international matches.

The 3rd ODI against Australia was Dhoni's 189th appearance leading his side in the 50-over format.

The 34-year-old has captained India in 60 Tests and 51 T20Is.

In his 273rd ODI for India, Dhoni played a brisk knock of 23 runs off 9 balls.

His innings included 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Only New Zealand's Stephen Fleming and Australia's Ricky Ponting have achieved the feat of captaining their sides in 300 international matches before Mahi.

Fleming led the Kiwis in 218 ODIs and 80 Tests, while Punter captained the Aussies in 230 ODIs and 77 Tests.
