Although wickets were falling around him he kept his cool and played with a wise head to lead West Indies to a respectable total. ==================================================================================== West Indies Overs: 45 II Score: 181/8 Pollard (76*) has put his foot on the accelerator now. Boundaries are flowing for the Windies here and Narine has batted intelligently to give Pollard the majority of the strike. We are in for some big hitting if Pollard has his way here. ==================================================================================== West Indies Overs: 40 II Score: 146/8 Pollard has played a very uncharacteristic innings here and has got to his half century. He has been the only player who has shown the resolve to hang in and not poke at deliveries outside off stump. DJG Sammy c Clarke b Cutting 25 (42b 3x4 0x6) ==================================================================================== West Indies Overs: 26 II Score: 74/6 Sammy and Pollard are playing intelligently. They have not taken any undue risks and have played the ball on its merit. They should only look to consolidate for the moment as Pollard is capable of increasing the run rate as and when he wishes. For now they need to carry on playing with caution. ==================================================================================== West Indies Overs: 20 II Score: 55/6 West Indies have lost another wicket and their innings is in tatters. The tendency of the West Indian batsmen to poke at deliveries outside off stump has caused them dearly in this match. Aussies are going for the kill. Darren Sammy comes out to the middle and he along with Pollard will be lookling to provide some stability to the West Indian innings and lead them to a respectable total. DC Thomas c Finch b Cutting 7 (8m 6b 1x4 0x6) ==================================================================================== West Indies Overs: 18 II Score: 46/5 West Indies are falling apart here. Deonarine is dismissed this time. His habit of poking at balls outside off stump has cost him his wicket this time. Safely caught at second slip by Finch. A lot of responsibility now on Pollard batting on 14*.
