Heavy rains have put a halt to today’s play. The play will resume on Sunday.

New Zealand lead by 85 runs with 9 wickets remaining. Day 5 is going to be a crucial one for both the teams. Though the Bangladeshi bowlers have been bowling well, the hosts now need wickets to break the strengthening partnership of Fulton and Williamson.

NEW ZEALAND Over 16 || Score 48/1

PG Fulton and HD Rutherford are at the crease for New Zealand. Abdur Razzak delivered the first over, a maiden but Rubel Hossain made up for the over by conceding 12 runs off the second over. Sohag Gazi was brought into the bowling attack, in the third over. The first 15th overs brought up a partnership of 48 runs for New Zealand openers. Rutherford was dropped by Rahim in the 13th over but he was unlucky, the next time. He was playing a brilliant knock until in the 16th over, Bangladesh got their first breakthrough.

With the fall of two wickets in quick succession the last 5 overs, the Bangladesh innings have come to an end. This is the third time that the team has crossed 500 in an innings. Mominul, Rahim, Nasir and Gazi played well.

Now, their bowlers need to take early wickets to built up pressure on New Zealand.

New Zealand trail by 32 runs with 10 wickets remaining.

BANGLADESH Overs: 110||Score: 361/6

Momunil Haque was the fifth Bangladeshi wicket to fall after being trapped in front by Anderson. He scored 181 (274b, 4X27). Five balls later, Mushfiqur Rahim departed after edging one from Bracewell to Taylor at slip. He departed after scoring 67 (119b, 4X10, 6X2). Nasir Hossain and Sohag Gazi are the new batsmen in the middle. Hossain got off the mark with a boundary off Anderson in the 95th over. Like his partner, Gazi also opened his account with a four in the 98th over. In the 103rd over, Hossain struck his first six of the innings off Martin over long-off fence. The duo is batting with ease and comfort and has added 60 runs for the seventh wicket.
