New Delhi: India's beloved son Sachin Tendulkar celebrated country's 69th Independence Day with special children on Saturday.

The batting great took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share images from the moments he has spent with the children as a part of the ‘Make a Wish’ initiative. He also wished fellow countrymen on the occasion of Independence Day.

The 42-year-old praised the "great hope and positivity" his young friends carry and said that "picking up a bat for these children was special".

A day before, the Master Blaster also revisited his first Test century, scored against England at Old Trafford 25 years ago.
