Ranbir-Farhan replace Ajay-Saif in Aparna Sen’s ‘Gulel’

Mumbai, May 08: According to the latest B-town revelation, Ranbir Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar have teamed up for their next venture. Both the actors have been roped in for critically acclaimed Aparna Sen’s Hindi directorial debut, ‘Gulel’. Sources reveal that the film was to go on floors earlier with the much-appreciated ‘Omkara’ duo Ajay Devgan and Saif Ali Khan. But since both the actors backed out of the project, Ranbir and Farhan have been taken on board in place of Ajay and Saif respectively. Grapevine has it that it was daughter Konkona who managed to convince her ‘Wake Up Sid’ co-star Ranbir to be a part of her mom’s movie. Insiders suggest that after Ranbir was confirmed for ‘Gulel’, Aparna perhaps thought she needed a more yuppie actor to take Saif`s place and she, therefore, thought of Farhan. According to our source, Farhan was initially not too willing to sign the film, as Ranbir’s character has more meat than his. It apparently was a huge task for Aparna to convince him. But we are sure the young duo will be no less a hit than Ajay and Saif.
