Mumbai: Less than 48 hours after Modi responded to the BCCI`s show cause notice on allegations of financial irregularities and bid riggings related to the Twenty20 League with a voluminous reply running into over 10,000 pages, the meeting between BCCI top brass and IMG officials, scheduled for today, kicked-off as members trudged into the office in the morning.
Interim IPL chief Chirayu Amin and Niranjan Shah were amongst the first ones to arrive.
IMG, which conducts the Indian Premier League (IPL), recently made headlines for being part of suspended IPL commissioner Lalit Modi`s alleged plans of starting a ‘rebel Twenty20 league’ in England.
The meeting is apparently being held to find out the details of the financial deals which took place during Lalit Modi`s tenure as the IPL commissioner.
While BCCI will be represented by President Shashank Manohar and secretary N Srinivasan, IMG will be represented by its senior vice president Andrew Whiteblood and the firm`s legal experts.
The meeting comes. A total of 22 charges were levelled by the BCCI against Lalit Modi.
