BCCI set to retain all three assistant coaches: Report

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to retain all three assistant coaches -- Sanjay Bangar (batting coach), B Arun (bowling coach) and R Sridhar (fielding coach), according to a media report.

Arun and Sridhar had already been assured of renewal of their contract before the Indian team's departure to Bangladesh, but Bangar had not been communicated about whether his services would be required beyond the Bangladesh tour or not, according to a report published in Cricinfo.

The cricket website understands that during the ongoing Test against Bangladesh, a message has been passed on to Bangar that he would continue to work with Indian batsmen for a longer duration. The details of his contract - tenure and compensation - will be finalised once the team returns from Bangladesh on June 25.

All three assistant coaches are working with Team India ever since Ravi Shastri was roped in midway through the tour to England last year as the Team Director.

It seems Shastri, who is playing a duel role for the Bangladesh series -- both Team Director and interim chief coach -- has once again convinced the cricket board to continue the services of Bangar as a batting coach.
