BCCI summons Warne, Dixit over pitch row
Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked Rajasthan Cricket Association secretary Sanjay Dixit and IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals’ captain Shane Warne to appear for a hearing in Mumbai on Tuesday over their spat regarding the pitch at the home turf at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
The chairman of the governing council of the Indian Premier League, Chirayu Amin, has called for the hearing in Mumbai following a complaint lodged by Sanjay Dixit, who has alleged that Warne had publicly abused him.
Warne is alleged to have blamed the RCA official for not providing the pitch that would have suited the home team in their game against the Mumbai Indians.
"I don`t know about Warne, but I will be going there alone," Dixit was quoted saying in a leading Indian daily.
"I think I have enough expertise myself, not to require a legal aid," he said.
"I am going to make my point very clear to the BCCI," Dixit said.
Warne has already said sorry for his unwarranted outburst against Dixit.
The incident happened post the prize distribution ceremony of the match between Rajasthan and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Sawai Mansingh stadium on May 11.
