BCCI to reveal IPL fixing suspect’s name to MCA: Report

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday confirmed that their Anti-Corruption & Security Unit (ACSU) will provide an official report on the identity of the Ranji Trophy player who was involved in an IPL-related corruption attempt.

The board assured that this report would be furnished before the start of the domestic season.

“They have assured that the BCCI’s ACSU will pursue the case in earnest and will come out with a report in the coming months to ensure that everything is out in the open, and that the report is made official before the start of the domestic season (October),” a source in the know was quoted as saying by the Indian Express.

We have not got any information from the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India, which conducts the cash-rich Indian Premier League) on this issue. No, we have not asked them. They must have either investigated the thing or are still pursuing the case," MCA's joint secretary Dr P V Shetty told PTI on Saturday.

On April 10, BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur as well as the Rajasthan Royals team CEO Raghu Iyer had praised the whistleblower for bringing to the BCCI's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) about an alleged approach by another individual to corrupt the game.

As per a report in the Hindustan Times newspaper on June, it was veteran leg-spinner Pravin Tambe who reported his fellow Mumbai team colleague to the concerned authorities.
