BCCI to select Indian squad for upcoming South Africa series on September 15: Report

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to meet on September 15 in the national capital to select the Indian squad for long upcoming series against South Africa, according to a report.

As per a report published in Ibnlive.com, the board has already asked players to submit their fitness certificates within this week, which is a routine procedure ahead of any selection meeting.

South Africa will be touring India for a series of three T20 internationals, five ODIs and four Tests. The 72-day tour will begin from October 2 with T20Is.

It remains to be seen if the selectors will announce all three squads together or wait for the T20s and ODIs to finish before announcing the Test squad. The four-match Test series will kick off from November 5.

MS Dhoni will be leading India in limited-overs cricket, while Virat Kohli, under whose captaincy India recently won a Test series on Lankan soil after 22 years, will resume duty in whites.
