Beau Casson retires at 28

Sydney: Beau Casson, the New South Wales (NSW) spinner, who played one Test for Australia, has retired from all forms of cricket at the age of 28 due to heart ailments. He played one Test for Australia against the West Indies in 2008 besides having played 53 first class matches for the New South Wales. Casson, who is suffering from Tetralogy of Fallot, had a surgery at a very young age but the problem aggravated recently which prompted his doctor to suggest him against playing cricket as it could prove to be life threatening for him. While informing the decision Casson said, “I`d like to thank Cricket NSW, and in particular David Gilbert [Cricket NSW`s chief executive], for the opportunity to represent the Blues." "I`d also like to thank my team-mates, who I have shared many memories with that I will never forget. Cricket has taken me places that I would only have dreamed of and for that I am very grateful. I will always appreciate the support I have received from my family and my partner Sally, and I look forward to the next chapter in my life," said the chinaman bowler who took three wickets in the one-off Test match he played for his country.
