New Delhi: Speaking on the IPL spot-fixing and betting scandal, Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan has said that the team owners should stay away from such practices. “I think as a team owner one should not indulge in all these practices even if you are a betting person by nature. If you’re an owner, you’re aware of all the rules and the loopholes and it’s undignified to misuse them,” Shah Rukh said in an interview to a leading Indian daily. On the issue of Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra’s alleged involvement in the betting scandal, Shah Rukh said that one should not jump to conclusions so soon adding that the claims of a bookie should be verified. “I’m sure he (Raj Kundra) will fight this battle legally and something will come out of it. These are claims of bookies which need to be verified. I don’t think bookies should be believed the moment they take a name,” he said. The Bollywood superstar said that betting is a “disgusting habit” and those involved in it should be punished.
