Bhajji, Yuvi meet friends, family after police permission
Mohali: Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh took a day`s leave and left for his hometown Jalandhar to meet his mother after seeking permission from police authorities.
India`s top performer in the World Cup Yuvraj Singh also got security clearance to meet his friends.
According to Chandigarh police sources, both cricketers sought permission from police authorities yesterday in order to leave the premises of Hotel Taj where the teams are staying.
Yuvraj went to meet his family and friends in Chandigarh whereas Harbhajan drove all the way to Jalandhar around 150 km from here, accompanied by escorts to meet his mother.
"Yuvraj and Harbhajan Singh had taken prior permission from Chandigarh police and there was no security breach. Our security personnel had accompanied Yuvraj Singh. Regarding Harbhajan, we informed the Punjab Police which in turn provided him escort from Chandigarh to Jalandhar," Chandigarh police sources told reporters.
Harbhajan, who missed practice session at the PCA grounds here, is expected to join the team tomorrow.
