Bird credits Siddle’s ‘another day in office’ advice for debut success
Sydney: Debutant fast bowler Jackson Bird has hailed teammate Peter Siddle for giving him tips throughout the Boxing Day Test against Sri Lanka as he collected 2-32 in 13 overs on the first day.
Bird said Siddle is the leader of the Australian ship and bowls on the pitch with lots of heart and passion. The debutant also revealed Siddle told him to keep bowling to his strengths without trying to do anything extra-ordinary, and advised him to treat it like another day in office.
Bird believes he was lucky`` to get the ball in the right areas on Wednesday, News.com.au reports. The 26-year-old said the atmosphere at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, with a crowd of more than 67,000, was unbelievable, it added.
