BMC to waive off Rs 4.75 lakh imposed on Tendulkar

BMC (Bombay Muncipal Corporation) are planning to waive off the Rs 4.75lakh penalty on Tendulkar for moving in without acquiring an Occupancy Certificate (OC).

Mumbai: Sachin Tendulkar moving into a new house could have been a perfect soft story, but for the past two days, his dream home in Bandra at Perry Cross Road has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. First, there were reports of stampede outside his house and now hours after moving in, the BMC (Bombay Muncipal Corporation) slapped a Rs 4.75lakh penalty on Tendulkar for moving in without acquiring an Occupancy Certificate (OC).
Now it is learned that BMC are planning to waive off the penalty. Mumbai Mayor Shraddha Jadhav said , "The BMC has decided to waive off the penalty imposed on Sachin." Earlier, Chief Engineer (Development Plan) R Kukanur, speaking on this regard had said, "He will be penalised Rs 4.75 lakh for inhabiting a house before getting the OC. It was due in procedure and he would have got the OC in the next four days." With PTI Inputs
