Broad backs England to win upcoming ODI series against Australia
London: England fast bowler Stuart Broad has insisted that the current England one-day side can win the upcoming series, as they are different from the one that lost 6-1 to Australia last summer.
“I certainly think Australia are the best one-day team in the world, but we`re playing fantastic cricket so it will be great to test ourselves against the best,” a newspaper quoted Broad, as saying.
“We`ve beaten Australia in Test matches and Twenty20 but last time we played them in one-day cricket last September we struggled and lost 6-1, but I think we can really improve on that performance; we`ve changed our one-day cricket around since then,” he added.
He further said that coach Andy Flower and captain Andrew Strauss have turned it around for the team, as they now play fearless cricket.
“Gone are the days when, if you have two or three low scores, your place comes under threat,” Broad said.
“There`s certainly a change of mind-set which has enabled batsmen like Craig Kieswetter to come into his first big-stage tournament and hit balls out of the park in the first over of the game,” he added.
