CA announces 'Twilight ticket' prices for day-night Test

Brisbane: Cricket Australia has revealed pricing for special 'Twilight Tickets' for the Commonwealth Bank day-night Test at the Gabba here, with adult tickets starting from AUD 20, kids tickets from 10, and family tickets from 45.

The 'Twilight Ticket', first introduced at the Commonwealth Bank day-night Test in Adelaide last season, gives fans access to the Gabba for the last two sessions of play for days one to four of the first Commonwealth Bank Test against Pakistan from December 15-19.

This additional ticket option has been introduced to ensure as many fans as possible are able to attend the match and be a part of this unforgettable experience. The 'Twilight Ticket' proved to be popular in Adelaide last year, representing 14 per cent of the tickets sold across the three days of the inaugural day-night Test.

The Commonwealth Bank day-night Adelaide Test was attended by 123,736 fans and was viewed by an average TV audience of 1.37 million viewers. A survey of attendees revealed how well received the concept was, with 96 per cent of those surveyed supporting the day-night Test concept and 69 per cent claiming they were more likely to attend a day-night Test match rather than a match played during the day.

Cricket Australia Executive General Manager - Operations, Mike McKenna said the 'Twilight Ticket' offering will give even more fans in Queensland a chance to enjoy day-night Test cricket.

"The day-night Test format proved to be a hit with fans in Adelaide last year and we are sure fans in Queensland will embrace the innovative concept with similar enthusiasm. The Twilight Ticket offers another level of flexibility for fans to attend the Brisbane Test after work for an affordable price."

Cricket Australia has also confirmed tickets for the Commonwealth Bank Adelaide Test will not be on sale on May 31, 2016 as discussions with Cricket South Africa about the prospect of the match being played as a day-night Test are ongoing.

Cricket Australia remains optimistic that the Adelaide match will be a day-night Test and is working to confirm details for this match in the coming weeks.
