IPL 2015: Can Ashish Nehra make a comeback in India's T20 side?

New Delhi: MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings have always been known for their batting prowess. However, in the eighth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the man who is turning the matches around for the Chennai franchise is speedster Ashish Nehra. The Delhi bowler has become the go-to man for his skipper.

Chennai has played six matches thus far in the tourney and won five. They are sitting comfortably at the 2nd spot in the points table. Nehra played a pivotal role in three matches to take his side home. He was also adjudged man of the match on two occasions.

Nehra bagged three or more wickets on three occasions in the on-going season.

The 35-year-old is a strong contender to finish as the leading wicket-taker of the tournament, which would help him to win the purple cap.

With 12 wickets in six matches, the veteran is just behind Imran Tahir of Delhi Daredevils, who has bagged 13 wickets so far.

If Nehra performs like this throughout the season and remains fit, there is no reason why he can't be picked for the World Cup T20 squad, scheduled to take place next year in India.
