Rohtak: Madhya Pradesh seamer Taduri Sudhindra had career-best innings figure of seven for 48 as the visitors have enforced follow-on on Haryana in an Elite Group B match of the Ranji Trophy at the Bansi Lal Stadium on Thursday.
Haryana, who were reeling at 22 for five at stumps on second day were all-out for 126 with Sudhindra making full use of the conditions to grab seven for 48 in 22 overs. After being enforced follow-on, Haryana fared a little better in the second essay as they reached 147 for two at stumps. While MP need another eight wickets, Haryana are still 214 runs short of avoiding an innings defeat. Much will depend on how well Sunny Singh (75 batting, 125 balls, 11x4, 1x6) bats tomorrow to atleast ensure a point for the home team. In the first innings, only Sachin Rana (40) and skipper Amit Mishra (45 no) made some contribution as none of the other batsmen were able to negotiate with Sudhindra`s controlled swing bowling. Put on to bat again facing 361 run deficit, Haryana had worst possible start to their second innings when Sudhindra dismissed opener Rahul Dewan with the third delivery of the second innings as he edged one to Devendra Bundela in the slips. With eight wickets already in the match, Sudhindra is now the highest wicket-taker in the national championship with 32 wickets in his kitty. Nitin Saini (53) and Sunny added 116 runs for the second wicket to steady the ship. Brief scores: Madhya Pradesh 487. Haryana 126 (Taduri Sudhindra 7/48) & 147/2 (Sunny Singh 75 batting). PTI
