New Delhi: The strength of the Rajasthan Royals right through this tournament has been match-winning performances from unheralded players and Pravin Tambe is someone who has done extremely well for the Dravid-led team.
The 41-year-old spinner has flummoxed the best of the batsmen in the tournament and the Royals team management would want him to continue his good form for one last time in the final against Mumbai Indians.
Tambe wasn’t even in the playing eleven when Rajasthan locked horns with Mumbai Indians in their first match of the tournament. But he grabbed the opportunity in the second match against Highveld Lions, where he scalped four wickets and also bagged the Man of the Match award.
After picking a four-wicket haul in his first match, Tambe went on to pick ten more wickets in the series and even a champion side like Chennai Super Kings failed to combat his spin. Tambe won his second Man of the Match award of the series where he dismissed three batsmen for just ten runs in his quota of four overs.
Tambe has won several hearts with his magical spells in this tournament, and it is yet to be seen whether a star-studded Mumbai Indians’ batting line-up succeed to decode him at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.
