New Delhi: The Indian batting maestros, Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar, played their last limited over competitive cricket on Sunday at Feroz Shah Kotla. Both the players received warm reception, which they deserve, from their teams, spectators and even from the Media. They scored tons of runs while representing the country and earned respect from all over the globe not just for their on-field skills but for their down to earth attitude off it as well. The word ‘Respect’ crops up in mind as one thinks about these two legendary figures. The presence of these two was enough for their respective IPL franchises’ to get encouraged. Youngsters had reaped the benefit of learning a lot while playing along or against them. The Wall ‘Dravid’, who is known for his temperament and technique, proved that if you have a good technique you can score runs in any format of the game. He played many match-winning knocks for his Rajasthan Franchise. Likewise, Tendulkar also showed that one can score runs briskly with the straight bat as well, even in the shortest format of the game. While opening the innings for Mumbai Indians, in the semi-final match against T&T, Sachin played some outstanding shots in his brisk knock of 35. His two sixes -- over long on and extra cover – and then a late cut was a sheer example of his class. As both would not be seen playing the next edition of IPL or CLT20, the flavour of these tournaments will never be the same for sure.
