Kings XI Punjab take on Hobart Hurricanes in the second match of the Champions League Twenty20 to be played at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh.

Kings XI Punjab had a dream run in IPL 2014. While Glenn Maxwell was the highlight of their squad with his swashbuckling play in the initial phase of the tournament, youngsters in the team contributed with significant performances throughout the season as a result of which they ended up being the runners-up after losing to Kolkata Knight Riders in the final.

KXIP boast of some of the finest Australian cricketers in Glenn Maxwell, George Bailey, Shaun Marsh and Mitchell Johnson. David Miller is another integral part of the squad, as the South African has got his team to some superb finishes. Even though they don't have world class Indian players, Virender Sehwag is someone who is still a threat to the bowlers across the world. In the bowling department, Sandeep Sharma, Rishi Dhawan won quite a few hearts with their consistency in IPL 2014 and the team management, would want coach Sanjay Bangar to guide the team towards another good show in a T20 tournament.

On the other hand, Hobart Hurricanes, who qualified for their first Champions League Twenty20 tournament, would be keen to prove a point as well. Tim Paine and Ben Dunk are two names which did exceptionally well for the Hurricanes in Big Bash League. They also have a renowned cricketer in Shoaib Malik, who can prove to be a handy all-rounder for them.

Hurricanes have a strong bowlilng attack with the likes of Doug Bollinger, Ben Hilfenhaus being a part of their squad. Xavier Doherty is a fine spinner in T20 format and they will be keen to prove that their success in the BBL wasn't a fluke.
