New Delhi: While the world's most established batsmen are struggling to score runs against KKR's maverick spinner Sunil Narine, the Gautam Gambhir-led side have further strengthened their spin attack with the inclusion of chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav.
The 19-year-old, who was included for KKR's second match in Champions League Twenty20 against Lahore Lions, was impressive from the word go and his figures do not suggest the way he flummoxed the Pakistan-based franchise.
In his first over, Kuldeep had bamboozled Ahmed Shehzad with a brilliant flipper, as the right-hander missed it completely and was almost half way down the crease, when Bisla missed the stumping chance. Kuldeep didn't get support from the fielders as well who leaked plenty of runs against his bowling as a result of some sloppy fielding.
The Lions initially tried to disrupt Kuldeep's rhythm, but were seen rotating the strike against his quality bowling in the latter part of the spell. The left-armer finally picked a wicket when Lions skipper Mohammad Hafeez hit one straight towards deep midwicket.
Kuldeep received praise from all corners as experts hailed his unique bowling style. While India has produced some of the finest spinners in the past, Kuldeep's bowling is something very rare and new for the Indian cricket fans.
With a spin attack that boasts quality bowlers like Narine and Piyush Chawla, Yadav's inclusion will only give more headaches to batsmen from across the world in CLT20.
