Sydney: Australia captain Michael Clarke is confident of getting fit in time to play in the Boxing Day Test against Sri Lanka at the MCG after he trained without any hassle on Sunday.
The Australian captain ran on the MCG for 15 minutes, then batted in the outdoor nets for about 20 minutes before running between the wickets with pads on in the indoor nets, News.com.au reports. Clarke completed Australia`s optional training session by having some more fielding practice back on the ground and said he was still pretty positive that I`ll be right tomorrow, the paper added. Clarke said the decision on him playing in the second Test match would be taken right before the match, but he is confident of getting fit in time. Clarke, a victim of hamstring injuries in the past, was adamant he woudn`t risk playing if it disadvantaged the team, saying having experts around helped make the decision objective, the paper said.
