Jaipur: Confident of getting a majority, the C P Joshi faction has called for an AGM to end the deadlock in the ongoing power struggle in the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA).
The divisions within the RCA surfaced after the suspension of its secretary Sanjay Dixit by its President C P Joshi, who is also a central government minister.
Joshi had named K K Sharma as "acting secretary" of the RCA after Dixit`s suspension, claiming support of 20 district associations.
Dixit camp had embargoed President`s powers and the executive committee had declared the so called emergency general body meeting of Joshi faction at Udaipur as `null and void`.
K K Sharma, meanwhile, called for an AGM to find out a solution to the deadlock. With the RCA office situated in the north block of the Sawai Mansingh Stadium under double lock, the Joshi faction held its press briefing at a city hotel here and lashed out at Dixit.
"All their (Dixit faction`s) allegations are baseless. We have the majority and most of the districts have requested President Joshi to call an AGM. The questions related to the validity of Joshi as Treasurer in the Rajsamand District Association are also baseless," said K K Sharma.
"Former Justice Kasliwal, who was the chief Election Officer, had given green signal to Joshi and that is why he was able to contest the elections and became president of RCA.”
"The Executive meeting called by Dixit was illegal as president has to be informed about it. So the decisions taken in that meeting are not valid. Moreover, according to section 15, the arbitrator can be appointed only with the consent of AGM. We shall meet the administration to open the locks at the RCA office," he added.
