Perth: After his blazing 180 against India at Perth on Saturday, David Warner`s stakes seemed to have imcreased as the burly opener may soon join the coveted `Millionaire Club` along with illustrious seniors like Michael Clarke and Ricky Ponting.
Incidentally, Warner was omitted from CA`s 25-man contract list in April because he was deemed a Twenty20 specialist who was unlikely to progress any further.
"Warner earned a base contract of about $160,000 by playing three one-day internationals, four T20s and making his Test debut against New Zealand. But his next base contract is expected to be more than seven times that amount," reported a daily.
"From being rated outside the top 25, he is expected to zoom into the top five players who are guaranteed at least $1.5 million a year when the contracts are reviewed at the end of this season," the paper wrote.
