New Delhi: The BCCI joint secretary and president of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Anurag Thakur feels that with Dharamsala Stadium being granted ODI status will start a new era in Himachal Pradesh cricket.

"The ODI (against England) in Dharamsala shall start a new era in the game of cricket being played in the state of Himachal Pradesh. This holding of ODI in Dharamshala shall certainly give a new dimension to the promotion of the game of cricket in the state," Thakur, who has played a pivotal role in construction of the state-of-the-art stadium, stated today.

Thakur on his part thanked BCCI for showing its solidarity as well as rewarding the stadium with international status.

"This was my dream when I took over the leadership of HPCA and now, it looks the dream is going to materialize. The HPCA will leave no stone unturned in successfully hosting the match. He further said that it is a good opportunity for HPCA to prove its organizing abilities in managing the big events," Thakur further stated.
