Barbra prefers elastic-waisted trousers

Barbra Streisand has revealed that she likes to wear trousers.

Washington: American singer-actress Barbra Streisand, 67, has revealed that she likes to wear trousers with elastic waists rather than ball gowns, as she prefers feeling comfortable to looking glamorous.

“I always wear the same thing at home. I can`t be bothered with jewellery. My pants have elastic waists. I like to be comfortable. There are so many more important things to worry about,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying. As regards the glamorous outfits Barbra used to wear on stage in her singing heyday, she admits that it was because she was confused rather than trying to make a fashion statement. She told Parade.com: “I stopped wearing them when people said it was a gimmick. But the truth is, I didn`t know what you were supposed to wear. I`d never been in a nightclub until the first time I sang in one. I just knew women were supposed to wear beautiful gowns. So I bought what I thought was beautiful.” She added: “The tension of opposites has always attracted me. Wool with silk. Tweed with chiffon. Even in my house, there are crude beams varnished to look like furniture. It`s the way I see things.” ANI
