Delhi, Tamil Nadu post wins at Gold Cup cricket

Delhi defeated Hyderabad Cricket Associaton (HCA) XI by 74 runs and Tamil Nadu emerged victorious by 31 runs against Karnataka in their respective semi-final matches at Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup cricket tournament on Wednesday.

HCA XI made 265 in 77.1 overs in reply to Delhi`s 339 for seven in the three-day match played at the Rajiv Gandhi cricket stadium here. D B Ravi Teja (60) G H Vihari (47) and B Sandeep (45) were the main scorers for the hosts. For Delhi, Vikas Mehra scalped three wickets and Ishant Sharma claimed two. In the other match at Gymkhana Ground, Karnataka made 252 runs in 48.2 overs in response to 283 for six in 50 overs by Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu`s K B Arun Karthik hit 129 runs (109b,16x4, 2x6) and Kaushik Gandhi made 78 (91b, 4x4). Ronit More took three wickets for 52 runs for Karnataka. Kunal Kapoor (94) and R Samarth (52) were the major scorers for Karnataka. PTI
