Dhawan guides North Zone into final

Jaipur: A half century by Shikhar Dhawan (71) helped North Zone trounce Central Zone by five wickets and set up a title clash against West Zone in the Deodhar Trophy here on Tuesday.

Central Zone won the toss and elected to bat but despite a fighting ton by Parvinder Singh (102), they could score 238 for eight in their 50 overs.

Chasing a target of 239, North Zone were off to a flying start as Dhawan (71) and Ravi Indeer Singh (35) added 54 runs in 13.5 overs.

Later, Mithun Manhas (40), Yashpal Singh (22), Paras Dogra (28 not out) and Nitin Saini (25 not out) led their team to final as North reached 239 for five in 48 overs.
