Hyderabad restrict Tripura to 122/6 on day one

Hyderabad: Kanishk Naidu produced a brilliant four-wicket haul to help Hyderabad restrict Tripura to 122 for six on the opening day of their Ranji Trophy Plate League encounter here on Wednesday.

In his 11-over spell, Naidu claimed four wickets and gave away 25 runs and had three maiden overs to his credit.

A Lalith Mohan and S A Quadri took one wicket each thus giving the hosts an edge over the visitors.

Earlier, Hyderabad won the toss and elected to field in the match being played at the Gymkhana Ground here.

Opener Rajib H Saha was the sole Tripura batsman to stand tall amid the ruins, making 71 runs that had nine boundaries in it.

R Dutta’s 17 runs not out was the second highest score, while another opener Biswajit Dey made 12.

Abhijeet Dey and Wilkin Mota returned to the pavilion without making any runs.
