New Delhi: India pace discard Ishant Sharma, who failed to make it to the 15-member World Cup squad, was on Tuesday included in the Delhi Ranji team for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy matches to be played at Hyderabad from March 13.
Ishant will spearhead the Delhi pace attack, which also consists of Pradeep Sangwan, Sumit Narwal among the other notable names.
Seasoned batsman Mithun Manhas will lead the 15-member squad. Shikhar Dhawan and all-rounder Rajat Bhatia would be the mainstays of Delhi batting line-up.
The state selection panel, under the chairmanship of former India cricketer Chetan Chauhan, met here to pick the squad. Delhi coach Manoj Prabhakar, Nikhil Chopra, Hari Gidwani, Bantu Singh and DDCA convener Sunil Dev also attended the meeting.
