Madhya Pradesh take 379 runs lead over Jharkhand
Indore: Classic batting by skipper Devendra Bundela (145) and Anand Rajan (84) helped Madhya Pradesh put on 510 for 8 against Jharkhand on the second day of Plate Ranji Trophy Group ‘A’ match at Holkar stadium and taking a lead of 379 runs.
Bundela keeping in his mind to gain bonus point for his team played brilliantly and gave no room to opponent bowlers. He completed his coveted 50 in 103 balls with nine boundaries.
On the other side, Rajan was also going great guns. His strokes were flawless. At lunch Madhya Pradesh were sitting pretty at 251/3.
Rajan was dismissed after brilliantly scoring 84 in 153 balls with 11 boundaries and three towering sixes. Bundela and Rajan added 186 runs for the fourth wicket partnership.
After the departure of Rajan, Madhya Pradesh lost the wicket of Abbas Ali for just six runs.
Bundela completed his century in 238 balls with 14 hits to the fence. Harpreet Bhatia batted brilliantly to score a brisk 45 in 44 balls with one boundary and three sixes.
Bundela and Harpreet Singh Bhatia added 94 runs for the sixth wicket.
At the score of 415, Jharkhand got the prime wicket of the hosts skipper Bundela at his individual score of 145 with 21 hits to the fence.
Later, Murtaza Ali swung his bat to score 39 runs with four boundaries and was out at the end of second day’s play while Ankit Sharma was still batting at 59 runs that came off in just 56 balls with six boundaries and two sixes.
