Kochi: Intellegent bowling by Maharashtra bowlers, helped their side to snatch the vital first innings lead by dismissing Kerala for 221 runs in their first innings in their Ranji trophy Plate League match, which ended in a tame draw, here on Saturday.
Maharashtra gained 3 points while Kerala had to be content with one point.
Earlier, resuming at their overnight score of five for no loss, Kerala managed to score 221 before being all out in 90 overs.
Opening batsman A M Hegde top scored for Kerala with a fighting 56 which had seven hits to the ropes. Hegde along with Robert Fernandez added 83 runs for the second wicket.
Maharashtra opening bowlers S M Fallah 3/52 and S Mundhe 2/32, G B Gaikwad 3/68 did the bulk of the damage.
