Mumbai: Mumbai lifted the C K Nayudu Under 22 All India cricket tournament by virtue of their first innings lead over Baroda after the four-day final ended in a draw at the BKC ground here on Monday.
Replying to Mumbai`s mammoth first innings total of 600 for 9 declared, Baroda folded up for 330 in the first innings to conceded a crucial and trophy-deciding 270-run lead to the home team.
The hosts separated the last wicket Baroda pair of Sunil Sharma and Rubin Dalawadi after six overs by dismissing Sharma for 57, with ten fours, to take the lead.
Baroda had commenced at the overnight 288 for 9 and added 42 runs in quick time, Sharma being the main run-getter, before pacer Aquib Shaikh broke the partnership and terminated the innings.
There was some late excitement when Baroda dismissed eight Mumbai batsmen with 123 on board in the second innings before the match ended in a draw.
