Indore: Madhya Pradesh had the edge over Bengal as they restricted the visitors to 200 for six after being bundled out 342 in their Group A Ranji Trophy match here on Sunday.
At stumps on day two, Bengal trailed the hosts by another 142 runs, with Abhishek Jhunjhunwala batting resolutely on 41 at the Holkar Cricket Stadium. After pacer Shami Ahmed, who returned impressive figures of seven for 79, helped Bengal take the remaining five Madhya Pradesh wickets for addition of just 20 runs, the visitors seemed a relieved lot. There was, however, disappointment in store for Bengal as they were off to a disastrous start, losing three wickets with just 19 on the board.
