Second round matches of Buchi Babu ended in draws

Chennai: Assam off-spinner Arlen Konwar and Tamil Nadu pacer Sunil Sam claimed five wickets each in their respective matches here today to share the limelight on a rain marred day, which saw all seven sound round games of the All India Buchi Babu Memorial cricket tournament ending in tame draws.

By virtue of the draw, all the teams shared two points each, while Mumbai outplayed Orissa on the first day yesterday to pocket four points and take their tally to eight.

At the end of the second round, Rajasthan joined Mumbai at the top with eight points, having defeated City XI in their first round while all other 14 teams in fray have two points each.

After a day’s rest tomorrow, the third and final round matches in the round-robin league would be held on Monday.
