Services 119/2 on day one against J&K

New Delhi: Services were 119 for two in 43 overs against Jammu and Kashmir before heavy rains drew early stumps in the Ranji Trophy Plate League Group B tie match here on Wednesday.

Electing to bat, Services lost both their openers – Tahir Khan (18) and Sumit Singh (33) – for 69 in 23 overs before Jasvir Singh and Sarabjit Singh ensured that there were no more hiccups for the home team.

Jasvir (35) and Sarabjit (27) then added 50 runs for the third-wicket in 20 overs before rain brought early closure to the day’s proceedings at the Harbax Singh Stadium here.

Jasvir had five hits to the fence, while Sarabjit struck four boundaries in their respective innings.

For Jammu and Kashmir, Samiullah Beigh and Raman Dutta claimed a wicket each, giving away 16 and 22 runs respectively.
