Tamil Nadu 224 for 2 against Railways

Chennai: Unbeaten centuries by opener Abhinav Mukund and Subramaniam Badrinath helped Tamil Nadu score 244 for two against Railways at close on the second day of their Ranji Trophy Super League Group A match here on Thursday.

With the monsoon weather playing truant making play possible for only eight overs yesterday, bad light forced the umpires to stop the play on Thursday after 79 overs.

Overnight batsman K B Arun Karthik (10) added just five runs to his individual score before being caught by wicket Keeper Mahesh Rawat off medium pacer JP Yadav.

However, Abhinav Mukund and Badrinath resurrected the innings from 2 for 36 with their cautious approach but yet punishing the bowlers for big scores too, adding 208 runs for the unbroken third-wicket stand in 75.4 overs.

At close, Mukund (108, 242b, 13 x 4) and Badrinath (106, 262b, 15 x 4) were at the crease.
