TN and Goa registers easy wins

Perinthalmanna (Ker): Inform batsman S Badrinath`s breezy 99 (100b, 9x4, 1x6) enabled Tamil Nadu to defeat Andhra by 24 runs in the limited-over P Subaiah Pillai Cricket Tournament at the Perinthalmanna stadium here on Tuesday.

Put into bat, Tamil Nadu scored a healthy 300 for 8 in the allotted 50 overs. Besides, Badinath, R Satish hit a quickfire 76 in just 53 balls with the help of 10 fours and a six.

For Andhra M Ajaykumar scalped 4 for 75.

In reply, Andhra scored 276 before being all out in 45.1 overs. V Lenin top scored with 65 not out(68b, 4x4, 1x6), while Shankar Rao 45 and V Manoj Sai 27 were the other scorers.

In another match at Palakkad Fort Maidan, Goa surprised Hyderabad by 7 wickets.

Goa`s Rohit Asnodkar struck 74 in 85 deliveries hitting 8 boundaries and a six.
