Porvorim: Tripura registered their first victory when they beat hosts Goa by seven wickets to end their league engagements on a winning note after a string of four defeats.
Set a winning target of 99, Tripura easily reached the winning target 100 for three after bowling out hosts for 339.
With this victory, Tripura got five points although they finished last in the group. Tripura had scored 353 in its first innings after bowling out Goa for a paltry 112.
With 99 required for victory, Tripura lost A Das with the team`s total on 11 and Wilkin Mota (12) was bowled by Saurabh Bandekar at 32.
R Saha and first innings centurion Nishit Shetty, however, prevented further immediate hiccups taking the score to 71 when the former edged a Harshad Gadekar delivery to veteran Ajay Ratra behind the stumps.
Shetty remained unbeaten on 30 and Nirupam Sen Chowdhury was not out on 19 as Tripura cantered home making 100 for 3 in 23.3 overs, leaving Goa to rue for a miserable first innings flop.
