Yeligeti’s heroics help Mumbai win Buchi Babu trophy

Chennai: Off spinner Vikrant Yeligeti’s devastating five wicket haul helped Mumbai claim the glittering Buchi Babu Memorial Trophy, inflicting an 87 run defeat on Punjab XI at the M A Chidambaram stadium here on Monday.

Needing 285 for a win, Punjab were shot out for 197 in 70.2 overs. Taruwar Kohli, who made a fine 65 (148b, 7x4), top scored for Punjab and added 77 runs for the fourth wicket in 32.2 overs with Viswas Kholi. Kholi made 42 (121b, 2 X 4). Perry Goel chipped in with 35.

Yeligeti claimed all five wickets in his second spell, which read 5.2?0?31?5. Medium pacers Murtuza Hussain (2 for 41) and Saurabh Netravalkar (2 for 13) each took a brace of wickets.
