Kolkata: As a compensation for the scrapping of India-England World Cup match, Eden Gardens will host a Twenty20 International match and an ODI later this year, Cricket Association of Bengal president Jagmohan Dalmiya said here on Thursday.
BCCI has alloted a Twenty20 International between India and England in September or October. The ODI between India and either England or West Indies would also be held later this year, Dalmiya told reporters.
Dalmiya had written to BCCI Secretary N Srinivasan requesting him for a Twenty20 and an ODI to the city which missed the high-profile World Cup match due to unpreparedness of Eden Gardens.
In his reply, Srinivasan informed Dalmiya about the allotment of the two matches.
