New York, June 02: Kate Hudson avoided bumping into Madonna after arriving with the singer’s former beau Alex Rodriguez at a polo match, according to reports. The stunning actress allegedly tried to disguise herself after appearing in a floppy hat and huge sunglasses, telling guests at Veuve Clicquot’s Manhattan Polo Classic on Governors Island that she did not want to be recognised.
But the Almost Famous star, who seemed upset after photographers found her real identity, was said to be aware that Madonna would be attending the match.
Hudson had purportedly showed up nearly an hour before Madonna and reportedly emptied her prime VIP seats after hearing the Queen of Pop had arrived.
“Kate was completely intimidated by Madonna. She clearly didn’t want trouble and decided to keep a low profile for the rest of the match,” the New York Daily News quoted a guest as saying.
A second guest added: “I didn’t even see Kate Hudson again after Madonna arrived. She ran away! But if I were dating Madonna’s ex, I’d be scared, too!”
Madonna, who was accompanied by family and friends, was said to be least bothered.
A third eyewitness said: “Madonna literally didn’t care. She showed up with no makeup, a dowdy [denim] outfit and her hair pulled up in a ponytail. She doesn’t need to compete with Kate, because she will always be Queen Bee.”
