England aiming to beat India to claim No.1 Test side tag: Swann

London: England off-spinner Graeme Swann has said that he is keen to play a leading role in the four-match Test series against India.

Team India is set to visit England in the month of July, to play the Test series, one Twenty20 International and five ODIs.

“I’m very excited about playing them. They’re the best in the world now and we want to knock them off their perch,” a leading daily quoted Swann, as saying.

“Hopefully, we can make home advantage count and turn them over. I’m looking forward to it so much,” he added.

England need to beat Sri Lanka in the final match of the Test series at the Rose Bowl this week to continue their march towards becoming the world No.1 Test side.
