Feedback from Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers helped me improve my batting: KL Rahul

New Delhi: Indian cricket KL Rahul, who is expected to make his limited-overs debut in the forthcoming tour of Zimbabwe, on Tuesday said that he had learnt a lot from his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammates Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.

Rahul, feels that the lessons he has learnt during IPL will make him a better cricketer and he would look to "express" himself in the Zimbabwe tour, which is scheduled to start from June 11.

“I spent time with Virat (Kohli) and A B (de Villiers) and asked them questions about what they thought I should do to improve my cricket and be successful in shortest format. Their ideas and feedback did help me in improving my batting," he told PTI.

IPL 9 was a breakthrough season for 24-year-old Rahul, who played a lot of crucial knocks for RCB, who lost the final to SunRisers Hyderabad.

Rahul believes that major responsibility would be on Indian batsmen to give cushion to their bowlers in Zimbabwe.

"Wherever we play, the batsmen have bigger responsibility in ODI and T20 formats, to set up big targets and give that cushion to bowlers. We have been in good form off late in the IPL and in the last couple of years in Ranji Trophy and first class cricket. We are looking out to express ourselves. We are looking out to go out there and have fun," he added.

India are slated to play three ODIs and three T20Is in Zimbabwe from June 11-22.
